Life has been so busy!! I’m taking two Upper Level classes in my major and they take about 90% of my time… but I love it
My Geochem proffesor, Dr. Grandstaff (better known as “G”) says the craziest things. Some are inappropriate to write here but some classics:
“Alright, I think we bit the wad for today…”
“How old do you think the diamonds are in bling?”
There will be more of those.
As for fun stuff, I can’t even remember what I did during the week, mostly because it was nothing. On Friday Morris and I went to Maoz (yeah, I’m obsessed) and we took the dogs for a walk on South Street. That’s right. Dogs. We adopted little Leonidas, a Cocker Spaniel. He and Xerces get along reallllly well.

And here’s what makes me go to South Street at least once a week:

I know it doesn’t look spectacular, but it is the bombdiggity. I know that word is so outdated, but it’s the only word I could think of to describe Maoz. And they just opened a second store in Center City!
So we got our Maoz and walked to the end of South Street to eat because it was a phenomenal day! There was a little girl there (with her parents) and she came over and was playing with the dogs. It was so cute! She kept telling me how she was getting a dog and she just loved playing. Here’s a picture of some giant people on the bridge over Columbus Boulevard:

And South Street from the bridge (all the way at the end):

And then we walked around Society Hill and met some really nice people. Like, people that compliment you, and then tell you to have a nice day. I’m not very used to that. We walked for about an hour and the started to make our way back to our car on Poplar but on the way I stumbled onto Fabric Row. Now, I’m not like, “Fabric Row, yes!!” I was like, “wow, that looks interesting.” It was fun to just explore somewhere I never was before. I’m so glad I have dogs to walk around neighborhoods I don’t live in : )
One mistake I think a lot of people make at Temple is not getting into the city enough. Granted, sometimes I am guilty of this too, and I get a little burnt out from the whole college scene. It’s very refreshing to be able to take the subway into the city on anyday and just escape the 2 chapters of chem reading and homework, the geochem thermodynamics homework, the Paleontology lab, and calc test. Very refreshing indeed. But now it’s getting to crunch time with all of that!
But before I go I have Saturday and Sunday yet to talk about!
Saturday morning I had work which was nice because I need money reallllly bad. But it also was fun! After that I had an interview in the city for a mindless, more flexible job, much like BK. Then Kim, Morris and I went to eat at Olive Garden and I was a little disappointed by the actual food but it was still fun.
Here’s Kim and I in front of City Hall!

Oh yeah! I changed my hair! Suprise!
and Morris and Kim on the other side of City Hall:

And then there’s this poster in the subway that is an advertisement of Sylvester Stallone’s new movie and I really think he looks like my friend Tomi K here.

I know you have no idea what Tomi K looks like and the picture is really blurry but you just have to trust me on this one. Have I ever lead you astray?? : )
And today, Sunday, Morris and I went to go look at a house. I didn’t like it except for the super cute dogs in the back. But they don’t come with the house. And then I went to KMart to get a new water bottle (my last one broke coincidentally just as I saw the cat that scratched Xerces eye that resulted in a $202 vet bill) and it was $9 marked down to $2. That was my crowning achievment of the day! And then I took Kim to the asian market and I got stuff to make pickles. I know. Random. But that’s college life!
Wish me luck with this week! It’s going to be a tough one!!
Oh but really quick, Kim, Morris and I went to Tea Country at the Edge (a residence hall on campus) and it was so cool! I loved it! I tried going back today but it was closed. But if you ever find yourself on campus and want some tea, remember Tea Country.
