I have had THE most glorious week ever! So we left off with the earthquake jump. So lets start with dinner at Konak restaurant!
There’s this thing called Memorable Moments where you can go eat at a nice restaurant for free. This semester there was one for a turkish restaurant so I signed up for that one. Probably the best decision of my semester. The food was amazing. We had a choice of salad or lentil soup, everyone got a falafel ball, hummus, bread, a cigar for an non smoker (it’s cheese inside of a wrapper that is deep fried), an entree and two deserts. What coud be better? And then a student who started the Turkish club on campus gave us information on Turkey. It was really cool because that is where I’m studying abroad at this summer : )

From the outside

Morris and I on campus. This is taken at 8:30 at night without a flash. Kind of crazy!

So then I had the last facies field trip of the semester. Pictures!!
This is a meandering river! More like was…but you get it.

How long do you love Rose?

There’s not a lot of vegetation because of smelting.

Kate! We were so nervous looking over. I laid down to inch over but i got too scared about 10 feet away : )

Kate and I.

Remember that post I did a little while back about turbidites? Well they were here too! I was too cold to take my hand out of my pocket so I don’t have any pictures of them. But what’s really cool is that the two locations are 100 miles apart!! Crazy!
And lastly, the geologists (thanks to Sarah for the picture!). I think this looks so posed, btw. I’m in the back right corner.

So that was Thursday. Then Friday I had a calc III test and a work meeting. I was going to go to south street with some people but then the person who was going to give us free food ended up not working, so we (Kim, Morris, and I) went to see Step Brothers at the Reel instead. It was so cheap, like $7 for 2 tickets, popcorn, soda, candy, and nachos. Then we played the longest game of pool ever!
Funny story. There was this kid in the gameroom from my chem class last year. Well, I didn’t recognize hime right away. I though he was from my chem lab and was this guy that stole my solution and messed up my experiment. So I wasn’t too friendly. He left a little after that and then I was like, “oh no!! That’s not who I thought it was!!!” It was this really sweet kid and I felt terrible!! But I saw him next morning in the TECH center so I felt better : )
Then Friday there was a big work event. That night we had a work party and it was really fun!! Then some of us went to this other party with mostly the crew team but Kate (from earlier this post) lives there too so I went to see her. It was really cool because her sister and friends from elementary school were there. It was really nice because I haven’t done anything spontaneous like that in so long because of my classes and how hard they are.
So then I got home around 2:00 a.m. which really suprised me because normally I’m asleep by 9:00 and then the sun was in my eyes so I woke up at 7:00 a.m. and went shopping at Franklin Mills mall. That was super because I’ve been working so hard lately, I just needed to do some retail therapy.
My finger hurts…I have a splinter in it. That’s a subtle way of me saying this post is done for now : )
